Slice of Venice Italian Restaurant: Reviews & Ratings

We just tried Slice of Venice for the first time tonight with a delivery order. Everything was fresh and delicious and doesn't sit heavily in the stomach. Even the salad (cucumber) smelled great as I pried open the lid! I think it was just dressed with olive oil and salt - it had no business being so good! The margherita pizza had excellent basil flavor with a tender, chewy crust. I'm quick to skip the the thick part of crusts if it's mediocre, and I ate every bite! The garlic bread sticks had lovely garlic flavor, and the cannoli were delicious (a good cinnamon note in there). My husband got a bowl of cacio e pepe to have tomorrow, but his sample taste was good! Definitely looking forward to eating here again.

The food was great. The staff were very friendly. The atmosphere was nice (I really liked the music). What's not to like? The pizza dough was perfect and had the right amount of chew. The sauce was subtly sweet. The basil and the mozzarella were both fresh. Cacio e Pepe tested very good and the noodles were clearly fresh made. Salad had very tasty slices of parmesan cheese and plenty of croutons. I was happy I was able to get a good Bleu cheese dressing with chunks of cheese. BTW, first responders get 50% off (but they have to come in uniform)! If you like Italian food or supporting your local mom and pop store, you should come here. We will be coming back.

Let me say that I was VERY pleasantly surprised with the quality of what this place is putting out!! I ordered the Alex (pictured), a slice of tiramisu, and some homemade pasta to cook at the house. The pizza tasted even better than it looked, which is saying a lot. One of the best crusts I’ve ever had on a pizza. It was firm and had a perfect amount of snap to it, but the top layer was perfectly soft, a combo that’s very tough to nail down. Toppings were fresh, and they don’t hold back on loading it up. The tiramisu was honestly better than most any other tiramisu you would get a full service restaurant. It was perfectly rich, and had a good amount of mascarpone too. Again, you’re getting your moneys worth. I noticed that they also sell the authentic Italian balsamic and some other items that they use in the food itself, so they are apparently very transparent about their quality. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Inna, who was at the register, and she is the sweetest lady! She undoubtedly has a deep passion for her food, explaining she only uses Italian ingredients, including the semolina for her dough. She had a regular at a table that she hugged on the way out, while I waited for my food. This is the kind of place you want to see around forever. 10/10

Houston is not a pizza city. I’ve traveled all around the city and this is one of the best pies you can get in town. Great sauce, always cooked right, and super light hand tossed dough. Reminds me of a hand tossed pizza I might find in New York City. The restaurant might look unassuming on arrival, but I would choose this pizza over almost any pizza in town.

The food was AMAZING! The owners were so hospitable and attentive. I do not like Marinara AT ALL and my mom was insistent on getting the Bolognese, but it was actually delicious. Don’t even get me started on the flavor of all the bread/dough! It is a little drive from where I live in Houston, but I have been telling everyone about it. The prices are very affordable for the quality/quantity of food you get. Even though it is connected to a gas station your mind is going to be blown away after your first bite!

Y’all, if you haven’t been to Slice of Venice of Louetta and Klein Church Road, you are MISSING OUT!! It is the BEST pizza I’ve had in town. We ordered the Granny pizza which had meatballs, fresh mozzarella and the crust…perfection! They are our new favorite pizza and pasta place. The owner goes in early every morning to hand make the dough. She told us how she recently switch flour for the dough because the previous company became to commercialized!!! She cares THAT much about the ingredients being authentic! My daughter had the bolognese with HOMEMADE noodles. They cook the bolognese for 4 hours every day! It was delish! Their takeout menu has coupons for next time!! Go support this local restaurant that could really use it and let the food tell you how amazing it is! The owners are the SWEETEST people too! The price was so reasonable especially for the quality. It’s in a gas station strip center so don’t let that fool you!

Drove 15 minutes here for a Togo lunch. Ordered the lasagna as it was mentioned in a couple good reviews. I was a little surprised that a slice of lasagna at lunch time cost $15.60 and doesn’t even come with a piece of garlic bread. You can get this meal anywhere in Spring for less with more food like a salad or piece of bread so I was unimpressed with the value received. I honestly probably wouldn’t have ordered it had I looked at the menu prices. The lasagna itself looked a little burnt so I was worried, but it actually still tasted good. It couldn’t have been fresh, unfortunately, as it was a little cold inside. The best thing about the place that will make me go back was the customer service. They took my order and payment over the phone rapidly. When I got there they called me by name before I even told them who I was or what I was there for and had my order ready to go. The lasagna, despite my honest observation, was good. I will give them another try for sure.
